Hi everyone

I am new to this site. I live in Australia so its a little hard to follow some of you with all the talk of snow and other such things we don't get here. I am a fairly new chicken owner. We have 12 chickens and 2 ducks. they are:-
1 Australorp
2 white leghorns
2 araucanas (both roosters)
3 speckled sussex x Plymouth (3 weeks old that my Australorp hatched for us and she is a great adoptive mum)
2 frizzles (8 days old)
1 unknown chick (6 days old)
1 unknown chicken.
and 2 Muscovy ducks

I am a first time incubator too and currently have 14 araucanas x leghorns in the incubator. These chickens are so addictive!

Australia! How fabulous! Welcome to BYC! There's actually a lot of folk here from Australia, so you should be able to find some people here to relate weather to at least. I'm from Alabama (southern USA), so we don't get snow either. Well, not often anyway. It's been 3 years since it snowed here.
It sound like you have quite a flock and some more on the way. I haven't worked up the guts to incubate yet. Maybe next spring. I think I might try letting one of my broody hens hatch off first. Then try to incubate after.
Well anyway, glad you made your way here. I have found this site and its inhabitants to be priceless for information!

Hi AusChook, where are you in Oz? I'll be moving back to Sydney in July. Dissappointed I can't bring my Silkies with me. Welcome to the site.

Thanks everyone for the welcome, I can tell already I'm going to like it around here!

Kaiwara Silkies, I am in central QLD. I love it here!
