I'm not too new to chickens, I've been doing it for the last five years. love chickens my husband has been telling me I have a slight addiction lol. I love my girls, and of course sir rooster. we got our first chicks about five years ago when my oldest was 1. both my girls appositely love having the chickens and love getting the new babies. they are little chicken farmers lol.

as of right now we have 6: 2 year old hens, 1 rooster, 10 pullets, and just got our biggest haul yet 18 new babies!
(3) What breeds do you have?
we have 6 Welsummers, 7 Rhode island reds, 5 polish, 7 Americana, 2 buff orphingtons, 2 bantams, 5 cuckoo marans, 1 rooster ( I believe he's a Rhode Island red, but unsure most recently comparing pictures has got me stumped), 1 prairie blue.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I just love having them walk and scratch around the yard, they are very peaceful, they come running anytime we walk out. its the best their such a joy to have. I love getting fresh eggs is nice too
