New to backyard chickens

Hey been looking on the website for a while new and signed up today kept chickens in the garden at home for 3 years now love them. Rescued 9 that was dumped in a park few years ago never looked back. Got my first chick this year after was given some eggs by a friend stuck them under the broody hen and 1 hatched. It’s 3 weeks now she’s not old enough yet to be sexed but what age should I put a picture of her up to determine what sex it is? If it’s a cockerel unfortunately not able to keep so need a few bits of advice for sexing them. Any advice is much appreciated and look forward to reading on more thanks J

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. Between 6 -8 weeks is probably the earliest gender can be determined for a known breed of chicken. Mixed breeds may take longer. You can post photos at "what breed or gender is this."

Hey thanks for the reply yeah from the uk Liverpool and have 7 hens and one chick currently unsexed, just trying to get a hang of this website at the moment loads of information so looking forward to reading more
