Hi everyone! I am fairly new at being a chicken mom, this is my first attempt! My six girls are almost a year old now. I have (in pecking order, which actually seems to vary slightly from time to time) a Golden Comet (Ginger), a Silver Laced Wyandotte (Lacey), a Sapphire Gem (Sofia), a Buff Orpington (Princess Buttercup), an Americauna/Easter Egger (Margaret), and a Starlight Green Egger (STELLA!).
I’m retired now and spend my time gardening and talking to my chickens. And thinking up new projects regarding my gardening and chickens that my husband ends up helping me with! Good thing he’s good natured AND good with power tools!

Welcome to BYC. Great place for information and chatting. Members are respectful of newcomers questions and concerns, and you usually get answers quickly. The search function is helpful to see what past responses have been for things like coop design, injuries, and why has my duck suddenly become such a jerk.
Originally I just used the forums for ducks, chickens and peacocks. With time on my hands, I started browsing through other listings. I highly recommend looking through lots of threads like Random Ramblings. A little intimidating when you find you are more than a thousand pages behind but don't be shy. Jump right in.
