New to Backyard Chickens

Welcome to BYC! We're happy to have ya here 🤠

For some reason I don't have success with quail in tall cages, only short cages that don't allow them to jump on top of each other like crazy. That's pretty much the only random tidbit I can think of 🤔

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Quail are SO much fun to keep, such big personality in a tiny package! I kept them for over a decade, I actually like them better than my chickens. :p

The best advice I can give is do not over crowd them. Give them twice or three times more space then people tell you. They will be way more happy, friendly, and healthy. And don't keep them on wire, use litter of some sort.

Stop by our quail forums for more help too. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/quail.48/

Enjoy your quail, fun little birds!!
