New to Birds and East Texas

Hi and thank you for allowing me to join. We are new to raising birds (as in, we don't have any yet and want to learn so we can) and we are new to East Texas. Hoping to find a quiet breed. Our HOA is leery of birds and definitely said no to roosters. So hoping to learn what breed would be best for raising as food and for eggs. Thanks
