New to BYC - 2 yrs with chickens

My wife and I are in northern Illinois and we currently have 15 chickens and 2 chicks that our broody just hatched (2 weeks old). We have searched around the forums a lot but finally decided to join today. 2 of our Hens are "retired" layers but we haven't decided what to do with them yet. We were hoping that there was someone with land in the relative area that took retired birds and let them free range and let nature be nature but we haven't found anything like that so they just eat for now. We look forward to getting to know the community and talking through various subjects.
