Hey all!
Names McKenzy and we've had our girls since they're a day old. They are about 3 months old now and sure are sweet.
We live in Phoenix, have two boys (10 and 5), work full time, run a quasi dog rescue/fostering operation and would probably be more comfortable in a small plot of farm land!
The chicks were my idea and my wife resisted for a long long time. She finally gave in and we've been super happy with them.
We have two so far named Beep 1 and Beep 2. They are BIG girls and meet me at the back door every morning for breakfast.
They play with the dogs (2 Great Danes and various chihuahuas) and love to hunt for worms in the (unplanted currently) garden.
I know its different raising chickens in this climate so any input would be great!
Ive been reading on BYC since I got the Beeps and finally made an honest man of myself and signed up today.
Looking forward to meeting all of you!
-Mike
