New to BYC and couldn't be happier!

I am a new chicken owner from AZ! We got our first girls (or at least I hope they are girls lol) about a month ago and I have learned so much already from this site! I seriously learn something new everyday! I am totally excited to have such a wealth of information and experience at my fingertips! And from what I have seen/read, everyone is so friendly! We are in the process of building a nice safe coop for our 5 little ladies (Barred rock, BO, speckled sussex, americauna, and white leghorn) who currently are quickly outgrowing their brooder! My dream is to someday have a small ranch, but that's not happening anytime soon. However, these little chicks help to keep the dream alive! I also am a proud mama of 4 rescue dogs: an Akita mix (she's my hubby's service dog), 2 lab mixes and a chihuahua! I'm very excited to meet everyone and be a part of such a great community!

Sounds like you have a lovely flock. Just be careful with the dogs. Most dogs see chickens as dinner, no matter how sweet they are.
