I live in North Carolina and just ordered some babies! My Husband raised pheasants when he was in college and I have raised Mallard ducks for years but chickens will be new! I have ordered 25 day old chicks that will be here at the end of March.

So glad you could join our community!

Congrats on the soon to be new babies!! Have you stopped by our learning center yet? While you are waiting, you might do some reading there about all the aspects of keeping your new flock...https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Enjoy this new journey you are on! If you have any questions about your new chicks when they arrive, just let us know. Welcome to our roost!

Hi everyone! We just got our first babies over the weekend and are having a blast watching them. Learning so much from this site. It's great!!

3 Rhode island red hens
1 white chochin straigt run
4 light brahma hens
5 buff orpington females
3 Buff Laced polish females
3 golden polish females
5 dominique straight run
1 FREE rare exotic chick (no clue what it will be, was a freebee from the hatchery)

Hopefully they all get along!

I'm glad you joined us.

You'll be getting a nice variety of breeds! They should all be very good layers and quite docile.
