New to BYC but am raising my third family of hens.

I can't recall this dilemma before but I have an older laying hen and now I have five babies that aren't laying yet. I have a hen spa. I want to put them all in the hen spa but they don't all eat the same food yet. Right now I have the babies in the dog pen in the garage and the old hen in a smaller pen in the garage (because she is alone and was attacked by a fox). What should I do?

I think the older hen could eat what the youngsters are eating for now. The young chicks should not have the higher calcium in layer feed until they are near point of lay.

Thanks, but I thought she needs the lay ration to produce eggs?
