Hi all- I finally joined up, but have been using the forums and articles since we decided to pull the trigger and get chickens. My family and I (wife, 7 year old boy, 6 year old boy, 7 month old daughter, 10 year old chocolate lab, and 9 year old basset) moved to Erie PA a few years ago and have always wanted chickens- we finally took the plunge this year and got 7 pullets born April 1st. So far they have been relatively easy (especially once we got them out of the garage!) and they seem happy and healthy. Anticipating some challenges as the seasons change because the winters are pretty brutal around here, but otherwise really enjoying the girls wandering around my backyard. It's been a fun experience for myself and my kids and I'm looking forward to having chickens (and eggs!) for years to come
