New to BYC from Ca

Hi everybody! I am new to the BYC, but certainly not new to chickens. My hubby and I have been raising chickens for 15 years, and started raising Bearded SQ Silkie Bantams almost exclusively for the past 7 years (almost 8). We absolutely love this breed of chicken! We own 50 (not counting newly hatched chicks) all with their own names and personalities. We have also recently started raising Showgirls, just when we thought we found the most quirky breed ever, we get some of these guys and wow, what amazing temperaments they have. Our main roo will cock his head and look us directly in the eye when we talk to him. He even chatters back in a sound that I have not yet heard a chicken make before, lol.

I'm sure those of you lucky people with this breed of chicken know exactly what I'm talking about

I'm in Silverado Canyon(OC), it's near the southwest end of the Cleveland National Forest. You may also know us as the canyons that were literally on fire in 2007! (Santiago fires)
