I bought 12 jubilee Orpington eggs and only two hatched. This lady was shady to begin with because she would only meet me at the Walmart parking lot (I was really hoping to see her chickens) and when only two developed (air sac issues and 3 were not even fertilized) and I kindly questioned her about paying for more eggs—SHE BLOCKED ME. Anyways, Marbury (the lavender) and Madison (red with pearl tips) are 10 days old. I am certain Madison is a jub but Marbury looks suspiciously identical to my Marley (lavender orp). Madison has short wings with paint brush tips and are two stepped and Marbury has very long (almost body length) rounded wings. Did she give me two different types of orps or can jubilees hatch this pastel? See pics attached.

I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I'd have to agree with you: that looks like a Lavender Orpington (or some other lavender bird). You would think you would see some patterning on the wings.

What a frustrating experience!

I don't fault her for meeting you at the WM parking lot and not allowing you on her property to see her birds, for biosecurity reasons. You or anyone else could easily carry a pathogen onto her property that could ultimately destroy her flock.

But! Blocking you when you had questions? Only two hatch out of 12 and she does not offer you more eggs? Two chicks that don't even look remotely the same? Yeah, she's a bad or incompetent breeder. Bad review and telling 250 of your best friends about her is definitely in order. And be glad you didn't go on her property and pick up a disease and bring it home to YOUR birds. Bad breeder. Bad!

Edited typos

You don't need to be allowed on site for her to take photos of her birds in their home that are tagged so you know they are current. ANY breeder should be willing and able to answer questions about their animals. Red flags all over the place. TBH, this sounds like a scammer more than a breeder.
