We have a small animal rescue called Safe Animal Rescue And Haven (S.A.R.A.H.). We have a crippled rooster among us and one lone chicken. We've recently adopted 1 roo, 3 hens all barred rock, between ages 2 months - 2 weeks and 2 guinea hens 2 weeks old. I am trying to do a meet and greet with the current 11 month old barred rock hen. Not going well. I watch over the greetings so no one gets hurt but she not only pecks at them she jumped on top of the next to the oldest. The roo is bigger so she really is ok with him. Each evening when she comes in for the night I let them all into the big yard together but again, I watch over them. How much longer do I have to wait to put them in together in the yard and coop alone? They have a separate entrance to the coop in which they have a wire room. The wire wall will be removed along with the separation to the yard as soon as they can get along. She sees them everyday and I find her in her fenced yard checking them out when she could be out running around. She doesn't seem to dislike the guineas any more than the little babies.
It will be great fun to read all the info, thanks.
