Hi all, I've been raising chickens for quite some time but never knew this website existed until yesterday, when a friend who raises Phoenix chickens told me about it. I've lurked around, and finally decided to join! Looks like an awesome website!
Along with my parents I care for a flock of 50-60.. 5 roosters and 50+ hens. My hens' breeds are as followed:
Mottled Anconas
Blue & Splash Andalusians
Balck Australorps
Red & Black Sex-Links
New Hampshire Reds
White & Barred Plymouth Rocks
Speckled Sussex
Buff & Lavender Orpingtons
Black Copper & Silver Cuckoo Marans
Welsummers
Barnevelders
LF and bantam Easter Eggers
True B/B/S & Wheaten Ameraucanas
Cream Legbars
Cochin bantams
d'Uccle bantams
Silkie bantams
..and a bunch of barnyard mixes!
My roosters are:
D’Artagnan (Blue Salmon Favaucana)
Mozart (Black Copper Marans)
Checkers (Lavender Orpington)
Chubby Cheeks (Blue Ameraucana)
and Jack (Splash Orpington)
So that's my flock! I've been raising chickens for 3 years now. Along with the chickens the rest of my flock is black Angus cattle, 6 horses (2 Clydesdales, 2 Thoroughbreds, 1 Tennessee Walker, and my Quarter Horse, Phoenix), 4 German Shepherds, 6 Toulouse geese, and 2 tiny little kittens and their mom! I'm 18, and looking to go into anything horse-y as a major!
