Hello! Reading the detailed, well-reasoned advice on this site, I realized that yes, I could raise my own chickens! I have never lived with them or handled them before, though, so I will get a lot of advice from two local friends who have more experience. However, I also want to hear from other voices and share my stories if they will help others. The articles I've read here so far are full of creativity and care for the writer's animals, and I like that a lot!
Also, I am someone who always asks "why?" and thinks outside the box. I don't want to put my bird friends in harm's way, but I also want to adapt mainstream chicken advice for my location and preferences. If I can dream it up, someone on here has probably tried it or has a good idea of how it might go.
