Hi everybody,

I am new to the forums and raising chickens. I am currently working on my first coop. I have five hens who have grown out of their temp coop and have been roosting in the trees at night. Hoping to be down with the coop asap before I loose any of them.

Basing my design off the Wichita and the Taj Mahal. I have it framed out and am now mostly recycling materials that I have on hand. I made mine a little longer with a 6 x 12 footprint. Has been a lot of fun building it so far.

I look forward to being a part of this group.

Some pics of my progress.

Awesome. Thanks. I have been taking pics along the way. I am happy to share. Have already gotten a tremendous amount of help from this site.

Got the coop finished enough to get the ladies moved into safety and life got a lot easier. I have since added the sand, auto water feeder, and a good food setup. Next I need to add the windows, and a door that will shut at night and some other odds and ends. Two of them started laying shortly after moving in, and we are enjoying the fresh eggs.
