new to byc.I have six rir chickens.

Just wondering about the cold if I should have heat for them. I live south of Boston.

Hello, Andrea....great to have you here! How old are your birds? If fully feathered - 6 weeks or so - heat isn't necessary. A draft-free coop with deep bedding will be more than enough to keep them warm.

Hi, Andrea, welcome to BYC. If your chckens are adults and you have a dry, well ventilated, draft free coop -they will be fine without supplemental heat.
