New to BYC & Raising Chickens

Just wanted to stop in and say "HI!" My hubby & I recently moved to Oregon with land enough (& no chicken ordinances) to be able to raise chickens.
2 1/2 weeks ago we became the proud parents of 6 Buff Orps & 2 RIRs. They are doing well, feathering out & tripled in size. We've been letting them go outside to play in a pen on warm days. The chicks are so excited when they get outside that they look like popcorn bouncing around in a hot pan.
Today was the first time I fed them a treat...mashed scrambled egg & grit. They absolutely loved it. I found out about egg from posts on BYC. Thanks.
Tomorrow we start building the new home for the chickens.

We live on the west side of the state, Willamette Valley mid-state. We have been loving it here. And the chicks are just too much fun. Our 2 dogs find them very interesting, too.
