Hello all I am excited to be hear as I am a new chicken farmer that started a year ago and have now have added turkeys to my poultry farm. I am sure that I will have many questions for you all.

I guess my first question to you all is on ACV. What are your thoughts? I have heard good and bad. Do you give it to the chickens on a daily basis or just once in a while as a treatment?

ACV is a wonderful additive! I started giving it to my flock a few years ago, after hearing it helps prevent pasting up in chicks. Well, that was the end of my pasty butt woes right there. I liked what I saw and gave some to the older birds as well, egg production increased? That convinced me. I also heard it helps prevent coccidiosis in chickens, helps relieve stress, helps feather growth and and and… If you can get an organic one with the "mother", that is the best, but supermarket brands are good too. Add 3-5 tablespoons to a gallon water and put it in plastic waterers, it corrodes metal. Give it for 1 week, then fresh water again for at least 4 weeks.
