New to BYC

Hi, my name is Wayne. I've always wanted chickens so once I was living in an area I was allowed to have them I built a chicken coop. I priced coops and after the sticker shock I figured I could build a much better one for the prices I was looking at. I got ten chickens from a friend of mine in April and they are just starting to lay. I got my first two eggs this week. Not sure who it came from. It was small, light tanish color with little white specks. I have a mix of Delaware, Leghorn, Hamburgh, Orpington, Wyandotte, Sussex and a few others. I found BackYardChickens while searching for info online. I'm married to a city girl who hasn't quite adapted to living out in farmland so she hasn't quite caught on to the chickens. Looking forward to reading and discussing my experiences as they happen.
