My parents had chickens, but we just got our first ones about 3 weeks ago. We have 1 rooster , 4 one yr old hens and 3 five month old pullets. The rooster is a black Australorp, the pulletts are ISA Browns. The rest are barnyard mix: a buff Orpington, two Easter Eggers, and a grey bantam mix.
I found you site by googling care of chickens.
My husband & I have been married 50 years, have 3 children & 9 grand children. We are both retired, wood working keep him busy and I longarm quilt for others. We have 6 gold fish in a backyard pond and our 8 chickens. No other pets. We started this venture to have a steady supply of eggs.
