Order of Peck
In the Brooder
Hi all, My name is Daphne. I don't have chickens yet, but I've been interested in getting started for a few years. My challenge is that the Houston suburban neighborhood I live in is restricted. No chickens allowed here. But I'm ramping up to move somewhere with a little more space and less rules. I've been researching what kind of breed I will start with and happened upon backyardchickens.com - fate, I'm sure.
I don't have much spare time right now, but I enjoy kayaking, rollerblading, composting, skiing, hiking, travel, and family time. I'm a nurse, working full time, and back in school for my masters, so I stay busy. I plan to garden more when my chickens are there to help.
I have 2 teenagers, a girl and a boy. I love them to death, but I'm looking forward to the day they move out. I haven't decided where I'll go, but I love the mountains and miss four seasons. I have family spread all over the country. We have two tabby cats and a boxer dog. I love them too, but I won't be sad if the kids take them when they go!
