New to BYC

I'm new to BYC, however I have frequently looked at all of the information, especially about different breeds. We've had chickens for 2 years now and LOVE it! We've had Ameraucanas and Golden Comets. My son showed chickens in 4-H last year and really enjoyed that. We are currently looking to expand our flock, we are down to one Golden Comet, who is the sweetest girl EVER! She has laid an egg every day this winter despite temps in the 20's and lower at times. We had two separate fox attacks(my fault as I didn't lock the coop up those two nights) and are now looking into show quality lines as that's what my son will be showing in 4-H. My son loves the Cochin breed, so we are looking into show quality lines of Cochins right now.

4-H is such a wonderful thing to be involved in! I did that as a kid, great memories from that era of my life. Cochins are a great breed, I think you will enjoy them greatly!

He did! He won champion in the brown egg layer pullet class and reserve grand champion in the overall brown egg layer class
