I’m not a newby to chickens but I’m not an expert either. I’ve stalked this site for years and am finally joining. I had silkies and polish and barred rock and now have taken a leap into the unknown.

I just received 13. adoption chicks and am hoping someone can help identify them. They are a week old now.
I’ve studied pictures and I’ve found out the hard way that it’s not as easy as I thought

there are 3 little gold chicks that are half the size of the others now

and one looks like an owl with puffy cheek feathers and I’m pretty sure it’s a roo because he is bossy and already tries to peck me

I have one buff colored polish I know.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. Love your photos especially with all the chicks lined up on the "roost bar?" The light buff does appear to be a Polish chick . When they are 8 weeks old is a great time to determine breeds. If you aren't certain of some of the chicks, you can post photos at "what breed or gender is this." and get opinions from experienced folks.
