(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am about to receive my first order of chicks in about a week. Super excited!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None at the moment. 7 new chicks on their way soon.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Balck Copper Marans, Golden Laced Wyandottes, Buffalo Brahms and Speckled Sussex.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Not sure yet. Looking forward to taking care of the chickens as a family, fresh eggs and pet chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, general outdoor activities, learning homesteading skills as a backyard homesteader until I can purchase my own property someday.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mom, we have also have dogs. Looking forward to our new chicken adventure. Also looking forward to becoming part of the BYC community.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found BYC listening to podcasts and searching for coop ideas. I joined to get educated about raising chickens and be part of a community of like-minded chicken enthusiasts.
