(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We got our first chicks last summer (2020) and added to our flock this spring.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 15 chickens right now.
(3) What breeds do you have? Rhode Island Red, Easter Egger, Lavender Orpington, Buff Orpington, Welsummer, Leghorn, Black Australorp, Barred Rock, Buff Brahma
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? How much fun they are and how interactive and expressive they are
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? There's not much time for "hobbies"...see next question.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My husband and I have a blended family of 5 adult children - 2 (married) sons and 3 daughters who live in 4 different states... NY, Washington DC, TN, and IN. We also have 3 horses, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a VERY large garden.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC while searching over the last year for answers to my many questions and concerns about our chickens and finally joined hoping that it might boost my courage to ask specific questions for help and support.
