New to BYC

Congratulations on getting your chicks, and fingers crossed that they are all girls!

I also started with four chickens -- that was many, many chickens ago -- then added runner ducks. Then, geese. It is a slippery slope once you fall in love with poultry. :)

Welcome to BYC; keep us posted as those babies grow -- you've picked some great breeds!
BYC is such a friendly and welcoming community :). I'm glad I finally decided to join!
I knew chicks were going to be cute, but they are just so soft, fluffy, cute, little poop monsters.

Callendar Girl,
What breed of runners do you have?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Thanks! I've definitely been enjoying reading your article/post on your coop shed conversion, the Mulligan. Covered dust bathes, adding cameras.. realizing salvaged items while they can save money can sometimes be time sucks :(
It's been a really nice read and came out fantastic btw!

Thank you. We're coming up on the annual cleanout.

My runners all come from a breeder who lives about an hour away, and she likes to have as many colors as possible, AllAboutChicks.

Right now, I have white, black, fawn and white, silver and the coloration that looks like Mallards -- and I ALWAYS forget what that is. I like being able to identify everybody at a distance with all their distinctive looks.

Mine are great layers, fairly quiet (for ducks!) and are easy to contain because they have very little ability to fly more than a second or two.
