Hello everyone,

I've read articles on the site for a while now and finally decided to join. My husband and I raise barred rocks, australorp, and white leghorns along with cornish cross meat birds. We were city folks who moved almost 4 years ago to a rural property in the midwest that came with a chicken house, so we slowly started raising chickens for eggs and have added meat birds for the second year in a row. We currently have 10 layers after allowing our broody hen to hatch some fertilized eggs, and 27 meat birds. We are always learning something new and always open to learning more.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

How nice you now live in a rural setting! I always been a country gal, I can't imagine living in a big city.

Your flock sounds lovely! If you have any questions about them along the way, be sure to ask.

Welcome to our community,n
