Hello all, I finally jioned BYC. I grew up on 23 acres as a kid and had all the joys of farming and livestock. I decided to introduce my kids to the chicken world and see where it goes from there. BYC has been a great help because growing up the hen did all the hatching and what nots for the eggs, all I had to do was supply feed and collect eggs when we needed them. I made a homemade incubator thanks to what I have read here and made a chicken coop for our silkies. We have 3 silkie hens and a cochrin roo. Once I buy a bigger place I plan on getting some dual purpose chickens, not sure yet as to which type. I will give advise when I can and will take any advise that other members can offer me.
