Hi and welcome to BYC from Central Texas!
I'm not clear on whether you are looking for advice on changing your city ordinances, or on getting into raising chickens.

Just in case you want information on legalizing poultry...

1. There is a website called Change.org that is used to start petitions. Someone in Houston, Texas recently asked members of the The Austin Backyard Poultry Meetup Group to sign her petition. Perhaps something like this would be helpful.
2. There is a film called Mad City Chickens that talks about other places with similar problems, but also has other chicken stories. It's a fun film!

Otherwise, there are plenty of poultry books and tons on information on the web. This is a great site for information, and the forums are great for finding help on specific issues.

Our city ordinance will be changing in the next six months so I would like to have all my "chickens" in a row before hand. I am trying to get as much advice and knowledge as possible before the city says go
