Hello from BC, Canada.
We are not only new to BYC but new to chicken in general. We have recently reached our goal and bought property outside the city to start our new little farm. We currently have a coop being assembled and a wonderful mix of heritage chickens being raised from chicks by our friends. 14 Wheaton Americanas, 5 Lavender Orpingtons, 5 Black Copper Marans and 4 Red Laced Blue Wyandottes. We have no idea which ones we will end up with but are hoping for 6-8 hens and Roo, when all is said and done.
For now we go and visit and hold the chicks whenever we get the chance. Hopefully by the end of the month we will have a good idea about which ones are hens and which are roos so we can bring ours home.
This is a big venture for us and I hope to learn lots through the expertise of members on BYC!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
