New to BYC

Hi All, I am new to chickens and new to BYC... I'm hoping to get as much knowledge as I can before I embark on this new adventure


(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, I am very new... I don't have any chickens yet.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? None...

(3) What breeds do you have? None...

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Researching chickens and ordinances for Gilroy, CA... and trying to prove my hubby wrong about needing a rooster.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I love to sew, cook (mostly bake), garden, make jams/jellys, relishes, etc...

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We have 6 children all together... 5 are over 21 and one is 15 and I have two small dogs that I love very much, chickens would complete the package... I work in IT and look for hobbies that are relaxing!
