Hello everyone from Westcentral Alabama,
I've been following BYC for a while now and decided to join in. I have have been working on my coop and run and am about ready to find some chickens to fill it with. I hope to post some pictures before long. My coop is an old play house that my late father-in-law built for my son when he was young. It measures 6x6 foot and is tall enough to stand up in. My run is 10x16 foot. I would like to start with 6 RIR, I hope it's big enough. I'm always open to idea's and suggestion.

Thanks, Traew

! Pleased you joined our flock! I think your 6 x 6 coop will be fine for 6 birds - 4 sq. ft per bird is recommended so you are fine there. The run is also big enough (10 sq. ft per bird is encouraged). So, you should be set. Make sure and stop by the Learning Center if you need some advice on the basics of chicken care. Good luck to you and have fun!!
