Ive been lurking around BYC for some time now soaking up all the info I can about raising chickens so today after building a real brooder and moving away from storage tubs i figured it was time to join the forum.

As a first time chicken taker care ofer its amazing how fast these guys grow!

3 1/2 weeks old.

Here in Kentucky the weather has been ridiculously unpredictable and unseasonably cold so today was the first time the chicks got to go and play outside.

! Happy you joined us! Great looking brooder and flock! I know what you mean about the weather! You will get the snow today or tonight that we got yesterday and last night! Good luck to you!

Hello and welcome from Ohio....so glad you joined BYC

Nice job on the brooder. That means your coop will look just as great I bet.

Thanks for shaing the pics. Cute chicks

Thanks for the warm welcome and complements . Yes DDNONIN2016 I have big plans for the coop i will be starting on it this weekend. Cedar siding, double hung windows, and a tin roof LOL. Im looking to build 4X8 or 4X10. They will have a 100'X50' pasture so they will only be in the coop at night. With three full length roosts how many bird do you guys this a coop that size would comfortably house?
