Hello to all! I live on a small farm; chickens, ducks, guineas, cows, horses and lots of wild critters that periodically pay us visits. I have been raising chickens off and on for about 7 years. I lost all my wonderful laying hens about 2 years ago (raccoons are so smart) and got the heart to start again about a year ago. My husband has made what I refer to as "the Spruce Goose" for my new fortified hen house. So far, my 6 guineas, 4 hens, and three ducks are doing fine in his concrete, metal and wire design. I have 4 chicks (australorps) coming June 2, to keep my Jersey Giants and Buff Orphingtons company. The 4 hens I have now are lovely ladies and give us about 16 eggs a week. Glad to see so many chicken lovers in one place and am happy to become part of your site. Kathy
