Hello! I'm very much enjoying my chicken raising experience thus far, and BYC has been so informative! I've learned so many great tips and new things just today! We are starting out with Buff Orpingtons and Black Austalorps, 6 weeks old now.

Good luck with your chicken raising adventures, and I hope you find everything you need to know! Don't forget to take a look at BYC's very useful learning center (If you haven't already)! Glad to have you with us.
Nice chicks, Buffs are cool.

Thanks. We are starting with 6 BA and 6 BO's. Thinking 2-3 of the BA are roos though. I'm disappointed because in our city limits we can't keep them. They are the most comical out of the bunch, I love their personalities.

Welcome to BYC!

You will love your Orps. They are so friendly, docile, great layers and just fun birds. My girls are such lap babies! I can't sit anywhere without a chicken begging to sit on my lap.

Great to have you aboard and enjoy your new babies!

Aw, I love that TwoCrows! Mine are getting comfortable with me now. I love when I opens the coop door in the mornings and start saying good morning out loud they run over and trample my around my feet. They are still at first kinda cranky when I try to hold them, but within a few minutes they nuzzle down and relax. They are getting big so fast.
