Just joined. I currently run Golden Oaks Farm and Boarding Kennel. I have always loved chicken but never had anything but just old game/yard chickens. I recently aquired several RIR and am now getting several eggs a day. I also fell in love with the Buff Brahma and Light Brahma breed. I have a pair of Light Brahmas and a trio of Buff Brahmas that are young. Also purchased several Brahma chicks. As if that wasn't enough, I found some beautiful Lavender Orphington chicks. New to the pure breeds and hope this site will help me with any question and problems that may come up.

I recently got a brahma hen. Did not notice anything until we turned her outside. She was walking funny. She would lift her right leg high to walk then she would hop if she had to go faster than a slow walk. Yesterday I noticed that her toes were curled and would not extend so that her foot would land flat. Today when I checked her I notice that she had a yellow discharge from her vent. She is eating but is still thin. I have had her about two weeks. I gave her some boiled eggs and have given her veg from the garden. she hasn't been very active, sitting around alot, almost like it is painful to walk. Any suggestion on what is up with her and how I can help her. Hate seeing her like this. Thanks
