Yeah I have to wait until the local feed stores are taking orders. I can only have up to 6 chickens because of the city ordinance. The hatcheries I have found online require a minimum order of 15. I think in April or May they will have some. I wish I could get them as early as March...

What I've done when I have to order more than I need is to order pullets (since most hatcheries only guarantee 90 % on sexed chicks, you'll likely get a rooster or two in the batch anyway) and then sell off the extra pullets. Since I've has the order form to prove that it was a pullet order, I've never had any problem selling off the extra chicks and recouping my money. Larger numbers of chicks travel better in the mail anyway.
