Hello, I just wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself.

We are new to raising chicks but I was raised around all sorts of livestock so it's not completely foreign to me. We have a flock of 10, all supposedly hens. All are just the sweetest little things and follow me just about everywhere I go!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Yes, chickens sure can be affectionate. My birds follow me around like drooling puppies looking for goodies and a nice soft lap to sit in.

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock! :-)

Welcome to BYC! New birds are always the best. Handle them as much as you can so that they're used to being picked up. It becomes a tougher task when the birds get older. You'll find out if you have all hens in a few weeks. The roosters will be easy to pick out. You can always post pictures of the questionable birds on BYC and the experts will sex them for you. Generally a lot of people on here are very good at identifying genders.

Glad you joined the flock!

Well I was told that I had 10 hens; 4 ISA Browns, 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Black Jersey Gians and 2 Golden Laced Wyandottes. But come to find out one of my RIR is a roo! But their all happy and healthy so that's the most important thing right?
