Hi all. I am new to this and went in with my daughter and son-in-law to get 10 chickens that somehow turned into 25! They are all chicks right now so I am looking forward to seeing them all fully feathered to figure out what sexes I have. I enjoy loving on them and just watching their antics. We also have 4 guinea chicks as well. We have 2 barred rock pullets, Cruella and Winnie; 5 bantams, Rex and Raptor (son in law named), Mater, Sophia Jane, and Honey; 4 Wyandotte straight run without names because we can’t tell them apart šŸ˜‚, 4 orpington supposed to be pullets also not named yet, 2 black copper marans, 2 barnevelder, and 6 maran/barnevelder mixes (5 splash and 1 normal?); we have named one of the splash mixes who is super friendly and her name is Fiona. We are finishing up the 8x8 coop today and then will build the run. They will be plenty spoiled! Looking forward to learning from those of you who have been at this for awhile!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Nice introduction. Your flock sounds lovely! Chickens sure are addicting, aren't they?!

Make yourself at home here and if you have any questions about anything, be sure to ask.

Welcome to our community!

Great that you could join us all here! That’s a good amount of chicks you got there! It’s amazing how the numbers can just multiply  Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Hello and Welcome to BYC!
I only wanted 10 chickens, but if God wants me to have 20, then 40 it is!
How many are chicks? They only count as 2/3 of a chicken.
Silkies and bantams only count as 1/2 of a chicken
And named chickens don’t count at all.
