Yes, I knew that the coop would not house 18-20 chickens but I only planned on 8-10. I thought about building one but decided that since I was so new to chicken raising, I'd most likely overlook something critical. Then I would have put a thousand dollars into something that might turn into a backyard paperweight. Later, as I get more knowledge and skill, I might build one - especially if I decide to go with more than 8-10 chickens. That seems likely since the more I look at the little chicks, I keep stretching that limit of 10. They are all so cute.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
The coop you have will never accommodate 18-20 chickens! Those pre-fabs never house as many birds as the information provided for them claims. At most, you could comfortably fit 10 LF chickens in it and that would be tight if you have any conflicting personalities.
If you are not in a rush and have any building skills at all, you might want to consider building your own coop or even modifying a shed to make a nice coop.
