Holy Cow! You really think my first ones a rooster...it is a little broody like. Constantly gathering up the others and when its not doing that it is picking auguments with 2nd one and third one. But its really cool!Hello from Northeast Missouri. Welcome to BYC! Congratulations on your new chicken adventure! The chick in your first picture looks to be a red Cochin bantam. It also looks to be a rooster. The chick in the second picture is a Silver Duckwing Old English Game bantam pullet. The third one is a frizzled cochin. No guess on gender. To me the fourth one looks more like a New Hampshire than a Rhode Island Red. It could be either one though. I would guess it to be a pullet. I have never heard of or let alone seen a Production Yellow. So I have no clue on that one. It is an attractive looking chick.
Alright! I really didn't want any roosters but I will love them all the same! Thank you!Totally agree with Silexian. Bantam red Cochin cockrel, silver duckwing Old English Game Bantam, and a white frizzle feathered Cochin. I'm going with girl on the OEGB and probably boy on the frizzle. I know very little about large fowl breeds, so on that I'm no help.
Is there a more for sure way to tell rooster to hen? Before growing out of juvenile1 and 5 look like your only cockerels so far, but possibly a few more. Update at 5 to 6 weeks. Regarding breeds, I am in agreement with @Silexian.
Welcome to BYC! Best of luck with your flock!![]()

Thank you. I really read through this and I am such a newbie!!!!! But either they will crow or lay me some eggs...lol I tried a few of these techniques but I haven't got the trained eye yet but I can agree with everyone one #1 being a male do to the comb and no butt feathers yet...but how is it everyone thinks the frazzle one is male?
