In the Brooder
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Very new to chickens. I just got some today!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

(3) What breeds do you have?
3 barred rock and 3 Easter eggers but the guy called them Welsummers so I’m so confused. I plan to get additional Sapphire Gems later once we’ve finished the coop.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I like the idea of having pets that can also help sustain our household with some tasty eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I don’t really have any these days, gardening fresh veggies is the closest I get to hobbies.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Im Lindsey, 30, I’m a mother to an almost 2 year old, married, and live just outside of the DFW area. We have 2 dogs a Pit and a Corgi/Chihuahua mix and a 9 year old Ball Python. We live next to my in laws on a combined acre with a large green house and coop we are currently building.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I’ve been lurking and reading for a couple of weeks now plotting and planning the coop design/layout and getting much needed information to get started. The community seems so helpful and knowledgeable!!
