Hello,
I have 5 assorted bantams. Two I assume are silkie but I am not sure on the other three. I believe one may be a porcelain hen, a mill de fluer cockerel, and no clue on the last one. I am hoping to have one rooster if any. Any input is greatly appreciated!

The chicks are almost 4 weeks now. When can I start putting them outside? I'm worried about predators. The coop is inside a large chain link dog kennel which has a roof and the sides have chicken netting to prevent any animals reaching in. I have not barried anything under it, should I? This is inside our fenced in yard. I'm quite attached to my chickens and dont want anything bad to happen to them. Thanks for all the input, I appreciate it.

I use chicken wire to make a skirt on the ground around mine. It worked well for foxes, raccoons etc where I lived before. Even domestic cats will dig in if they are ambitious.

ETA I start putting mine outside during week 2. They are with the rest of the flock during the day usually by week 3-4, and full time by week 6.

I say 6-7 depending on the temperature in your area
