I have a shelf full of books on chicken keeping. I honestly believe that I have gotten more practical info from the forum than any book. However, I like reading books, and they are still there when the internet is down, so I'll recommend: "Chicken Keeping for Dummies" which you can buy in the BYC store, as the best all around book on the subject.
