New to Chickens but love it!

Hello! I am recently new to chickens but have quickly fallen in love with taking care of them! I currently have 10 chickens of different breeds. Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpington, Polish, Red/Blue Wyandotte, Spitzenhauben, Blue Rocks.

I have suffered a lot from depression in the past, and my counselor suggested I get a hobby. Chickens have become a joy for me. I'm excited to be a part of this forum to learn more!

Good morning and welcome to the BYC flock!!! I got into chickens by looking into a purpose in life. I used to rescue dogs, but can't anymore (my mom and I were actually registered non-profit rescue) I love animals, but really never thought chickens (and now 3 ducks) could fulfill that feeling.

My chickens help me too! They need me, but not too much, if you understand. When they come running to me it makes me so happy!

Also I really want a spitzhauben. They are so cool!

My daughter was over the other day. We were standing in the chicken yard. She looked around and said “Im surprised you don’t have any goats.”

Just saying... chickens are great but very few are cuddlers. Dwarf goats... man they will cuddle all day long if you let them.
