New to Chickens in North Carolina, USA

Thank you! I've been considering speaking to law enforcement for sure. That night I ordered cameras! I have a trail cam pointing right at the coop and a small wifi cam inside where I can watch the backyard when I'm gone.
I also spoke to the neighbor in between us and put up a sign stating that I have cameras.
We've been in this house since 2015 and only now put a lock on our shed door this Saturday. My husband wasn't taking any chances.
These are photos of the view walking out into my backyard. His house is that white one past the gas tank. He has seen me with this chicken for months! He's always outside watching lol. So weird.
I'd love a privacy fence.
I'm retired LE so just know that down the road if another issue happens, they'll be asking why you didn't report the first one. ☺️ It doesn't hurt to have an official record of it and, in case they ever have run-ins with him, they'll know about his strange behavior as your neighbor.

That sign should definitely ward that spooky guy off, and glad you have cameras to catch it if he comes over there while you're gone to snoop.

Welcome! I’m sorry to hear about the struggles with your neighbor, that sounds incredibly frustrating. I’m betting that chicken will be back to visit more often, especially given that you have two other ladies now, since they’re flock creatures! I hope everything works out in your favor.

:frow Welcome from New Orleans. This is a great place to get information on how to handle problems with neighbors, with out breaking the law yourself. I would definitely contact the police. Ask them what you can and can't legally do to rectify the situation.
As for privacy fences, We put ours up by ourselves, it was pretty easy and we were about 60 years old at the time. As for the cost, you can put it up, section by section as you are ready financially. Good luck with everything, but most importantly enjoy your hens. Have you named the girls yet?
