New to chickens, need to find some roosters a good home

Hi all, I started a project with my teenage son. It was to build a incubator, hatch chickens and raise them for eggs.
Everything is going as planned except 3 of the chickens hatched are roosters. For many reasons, I would like to find these three roosters a good home. The fertile eggs were acquired from the University of Illinois ag school, and the breed is a nice new Hampshire red and Delaware mix.
Much of the family is now involved in the project and we have gotten many ideas from this site. I look forward to talking to you all and will post pics of our setup.

or here if they are free: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16182/animals-in-need-of-free-re-homing.

You can also try posting them on your state thread on BYC or craigslist to try and find someone local that might be interested.
 
you need to have 20 posts before you can participate in the BYC Bull, sell, trade forum, in any capacity - ie., free animals for rehoming.

There is a tremendous glut of roosters on the market, with most folks only successful in placing them IF they don't ask why someone wants them. Generally they will become dinner but, there is always a slight risk they would be used for shady dealings. This is a situation we are asked about many, many times a day from posters.
 
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry about the excess of roosters. The other members have given you some good suggestions for re-homing them. You might also try checking with your local feed store. They may know someone who would like to have them. They may even have a bulletin board you can advertise them on. You can also try checking with your local 4h. Some of the students may want them. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can.
